Transported by shuttle bus from Aguas Calientes to begin your connection to the natural world and cultural show at the citadel of Machu Picchu (2,400m/7907ft), catch yourself as you travel back in time to this magical place, sacred and mysterious, with the name of Machu-Picchu, “The Old  Mountain.”  Take your time exploring the majestic Machu Picchu, the Incan ruins rich in history and beautiful landscapes.

Itinerary

Transported by shuttle bus from Aguas Calientes to begin your connection to the natural world and cultural show at the citadel of Machu Picchu (2,400m/7907ft), catch yourself as you travel back in time to this magical place, sacred and mysterious, with the name of Machu-Picchu, “The Old  Mountain.”  Take your time exploring the majestic Machu Picchu, the Incan ruins rich in history and beautiful landscapes.

Wake up early to rise to a new day of adventure and mindfulness sharing the day with our majestic Machu Picchu. We pick you up at your hotel 5:40am, then drive in our private van to Poroy Train Station to leave at 6.40am. Travel through the alpine meadows nestled amongst the green, and white glacier peaks, the intricately formed valleys, layers of handmade Inca farming terraces, ridgid snowcapped mountains and sub-tropical jungle near the Amazon from Ollantaytambo. The sacred Vilcanota River will be our companion until your arrival at Aguas Calientes.

Your guide will meet you at the train station in Aguas Calientes at 9:54 am and transfer you to Machu Picchu on the shuttle around 11:00 to 11:30am.  You will have time to get a quick lunch before taking the shuttle to Machu Picchu.  Your entrance time will be 12:00am for the afternoon session. Following in the ancient and remote footsteps of the Lost City of the Incas, listen carefully the 2.5 hours of guided tour and cultural exchange of the history of Machu Picchu. You will then be gifted with free time to explore, take photos, or hike to the Sun Gate. Returning to Aguas Calientes, to catch the early evening return at 6:2opm Expedition train to Ollantaytambo, where we take you back to your hotel in Cusco, arriving approximately by 10:20pm.

EXTRA HIKES

Hiking up to the SUN Gate: (no ticket is needed). It takes an hour hike from where you may enjoy the amazing angle view of Machu Picchu.
Inca Bridge: (no ticket needed). It is a 25minute walk from the citadel, great views.

EXPEDITION CLASS TRAIN

The Expedition service is designed for traveler’s comfort, being able to share  your experience with four passenger seats located in front of each other. A luggage compartment offered above for the faithful backpack.

Andean music is played throughout the journey,panoramic windows, air conditioning and heating.

Expedition service leaves from Ollantaytambo – Located 2 hours away from Cusco

SCHEDULE FOR MACHU PICCHU TOUR

Enjoy Machu Picchu Tour 1 Day , in a Small Group

  • Transfer from your hotel at 5:40 am   Cusco to the Train Station at Poroy. (Train leaves at 6:40am)
  • The train ride consists of amazing views in the Sacred Valley of the Incas.
  • Your guide will meet you at the train station, you will have time for a quick lunch before taking the shuttle bus from Aguas Calientes to Machu Picchu at around 11:am to 11:30am – 30 minutes.
  • At approxately 12:00; a guided tour of Machupicchu lasts around 2hours and then you have some free time for taking photos, exploring the citadel by yourself, or hiking to the Sun Gate.
  • take the shuttle back to Aguas Calientes town at the latest 5:00pm
  • Take your train at 6:20pm ( be at the station 30min before the train departures) Return by Expedition Train to Ollantaytambo and transfer back to Cusco by van.
  • Arriving to your hotel in Cusco approximately at 10:20pm.
