This is the best itinerary and all-inclusive package to enjoy Cusco, Sacred Valley & Machu Picchu at its finest and travel on the exclusive and luxurious Belmond Hiram Bingham train.

Travel through Sacred Valley on the exclusive and luxurious Belmond Hiram Bingham train and enjoy the elegant dining car, the bar car and observatory, where you can take in the scenery in the open air while sipping on a traditional Peruvian cocktail and listening to live local music.  Once aboard, the maître will invite you to a brunch and gourmet lunch. The return trip includes a fine dining experience at dinner. In both cases, you can accompany your meals with beverages (non-premium) and an excellent wine selection.

As you travel on the train you’ll enjoy unmatched and mesmerizing panoramic views, as you pass by the ancient towns of the Incas. Itinerary

DAY 1: CUSCO – EXPLORE THE CITY

We pick you up from the airport and transfer you to your hotel to get settled. In the afternoon, we will pick you up from your hotel at 1pm to begin our visit of the Imperial City. It is a living example of the mix of andean and spanish culture.

Start the tour at the Convent of Santo Domingo built over the Koricancha, which was the Ancient Inca Palace and the main worship center of the Sun God. You are given plenty of time to enjoy these beautiful sights. From there we visit the archaeological site of Sacsayhuaman, with its impressive Inca architecture which dominates the city. Finally, we explore the archaeological sites of Q’enqo, Pucapucara and Tambomachay, which are located to the north-east section of the city.  You’ll return to your hotel in Cusco in the early evening.

DAY 2: CUSCO – EXPLORE THE SACRED VALLEY

In your second day we pick you up at your hotel at 7am, with our private van and head towards the Sacred Valley of the Incas, taking the direct route to Pisac. We drive for 35 minutes up to the mirador of Taray to have a classic view of the Urubamba valley with crops dressing the mountains like a carpet. Onward, we drive to the archaeological site of Pisac, where you can see the biggest Inca cemetery with more than 2000 tombs. There we can admire the incredible farming terraces carved into the mountain, explore the Inca tunnel and the religious area of this important citadel.

Then we head back to the colourful market of Pisac, spend some time visiting it and then drive to Urumbamba for lunch at the Tunupa Restaurant and on to the Pre-Inca Salt Mines and then to the archeological site of Moray.  After a time to visit the Salt Mines and Moray, we finish our tour in Ollantaytambo.  We explore the archeological site for 1.5hours and admire the water fountains, the Sun Temple, the Incahuatana and the impressive store houses. Finally we will return to Cusco, dropping you at your hotel around 6.30pm.

DAY 3: CUSCO – MACHU PICCHU

From the Poroy station at 9:05am, we will embark in one of the most spectacular rides on board the exclusive Hiram Bingham deluxe train. The experience on board is purely first class. The train’s incredible classic style compliments perfectly with the dining room arrangement, making it easy to taste the delightful dishes carefully prepared for us by experienced chefs.  The landscapes are breathtaking and while we follow the Urubamba River course getting closer and closer to the canyon. We’ll arrive at Aguas Calientes at 12:24pm.

Once your arrive you’ll be transferred to your hotel and have the day free to explore Aguas Calientes, shop or relax in the hot springs.

DAY 4: MACHU PICCHU – CUSCO

So excited we leave our hotel after a very early breakfast to take the bus for the journey up to Machu Picchu ruins. The Lost City of the Incas will astonish us with its terraces, ceremonial shrines, steps, solar clock or Intihuatana, all this amid a special atmosphere. Once inside the citadel, we will be provided with a guided 2 hour tour with plenty of free time for further exploring, taking photos and the option to climb Huayna Picchu, Machu Picchu Mountain, or hike to the Sun Gate.

Then back to Aguas Calientes as we end out time at Machu Picchu, take a leisurely lunch in Aguas Calientes. At 5:50pm we will return to Cusco enjoying a Gourmet dinner on board with a private van connection to Cusco from the Poroy Station, arriving at your hotel in the evening around 9:45PM.

DAY 5: DEPARTURE & AIRPORT TRANSFER
